UPK, 4-5 Years

Jennifer Kuzmich

School Director

Hello! My name is Miss Jen and I teach the UPK 4/5 year old classes. I was born in Nebraska but moved to Loveland when I was 5 years old and I've been here ever since.  When my oldest two children were in elementary school, I taught in their computer lab, calling all 500 students at the school my own.  My husband Steve and I have four kids, Addyson, Mikaela, Theodore, and Everett.  We also have our own zoo, as we have two dogs, two guinea pigs, a ferret, and a tank full of goldfish!  I really enjoy playing games with my family, spending time in the mountains, and paper crafting.  Thank you for allowing me to play a part in your kiddo's life!

Natalie Davidson

Hi! My name is Natalie Davidson and I am the Pre-K Teacher's Aide in the 4/5 class. I have taught art to elementary and high school students, both in public schools and private companies. My experience also includes childcare in daycare, after school programs, and various summer camps. My children attended Loveland Preschool in previous years, where I served on the board before joining the staff in February 2022. In my spare time you will find me painting, baking, enjoying game night, or going on adventures with my husband and two kids.

Lizzie Rink

My name is Miss Lizzie and I am an aide in the UPK 4/5 classroom.  I am a former high school Mathematics teacher from a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  My family moved to Colorado in September of 2022, so my twin boys Ethan and Owen had the pleasure of attending Loveland Preschool last year.  I also have a daughter, Addie, who will be lucky enough to attend LPS next year.  In my spare time, I love spending time with family, hiking or climbing in the mountains, and whenever possible I love to travel to new places and see the world.

Class Options:

In the 4/5 Pre-K class we work on classroom expectations, procedures, and social skills. We also begin developing the educational skills needed for Kindergarten such as: letters and letter sounds through the use of Zoo Phonics, Secret Stories, numbers, counting, colors, and shapes. All of these skills are acquired through a play based learning philosophy. We incorporate hands-on, fun and playful activities through arts and crafts, math activities, small group work and guided play. All of these areas greatly contribute to fine motor skill development while providing students an opportunity to express their own creativeness and gain lifelong learning skills. Our goal for the students is that they have so much fun at preschool they don’t realize they are learning! Enrollment is capped at 20 students, and as with most preschools, this is our most popular class.  With four adults in the class every day, the student to adult ratio is always in great shape.

Students must be age 4 by October 1st in order to be enrolled in the 4’s and 5’s class and must be registered through Colorado Universal Preschool (UPK).  It is important to register early for this class, as it is the first to fill every year.  Registration for our preschool is done in the Spring.  Keep your eyes on the website for updates or check our calendar for the date.

Classroom Facilities

The 4’s and 5’s classroom is set up to make sure that every student has a chance to play and learn.  The room is quite large allowing for many different types of guided play.  The large sink is a great place to help clean up spills and messes so that kids can continue having a great time together.  Manipulatives and toys abound in many different forms in the 4’s and 5’s room.
